More Big Fun is on the way!

Our current kitchen exhibit has been a much-loved favorite since we opened in 2017 and has brought a lot of joy to visitors and members of all ages. This wonderful exhibit was built locally by Gary Damaschke and Kate Doescher. The exhibit was designed to provide an opportunity for creative, self-directed play. It is now time for an update to this special space and we ask that you come alongside us as we work to build for the future.

We need to raise $8,000 to begin building our update to the grocery store exhibit. The food truck will be even more Big Fun.
The Food Truck will be a cool new way for dramatic play. There will be pots and pans, a stove, fun toy food and a truck to drive!
Children will be able to make their own menu and practice buying food for their food truck on a budget. They will practice math skills and organnizing skills, but above all it will be Big Fun!
The Market will be stocked with fun food from farm exhibt next to this Food Truck exhibit. Harvest the food and send it to market through the special delivery directly into the market crates.
Each food theme will have special foods for kids to plan their menu around. We can't wait to see the creative specialties they develop!
The Food Truck will change out cuisines on a regular basis, so its always "fresh" and fun. Big Fun!
Kids can shop for food for their menus and then use a debit card to “buy” the food. There will be a couple of debit card dollar values. Kids will insert their choice into the “card reader” and then add groceries into the bin till the budget is used up. There will be a price list for all the food types so they can revise their choices to "balance" their budget.
